Jonathan Fanton, Director of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation (1999-2009), President of the New School for Social Research in New York (1982-1999) and member of the EUSP’s International Advisory Board.
In his presentation Mr. Fanton talked about global trends in the development of philanthropy, new challenges and technologies. He paid particular attention to charitable foundations, the transformations they have undergone in the last several years, changes to their policies, the unique role of foundations as agents of social change and their activities in different field of knowledge.
