Vladimir Drebentsov

On April 6 at 5:30 PM, in the White Hall of EUSP, Vladimir Drebentsov, Vice-President for External Affairs of BP Russia, will give a talk about the tendencies of oil and gas development during difficult economic times and periods of low oil prices. The talk will be prefaced by an awards ceremony of BP scholarship winners. A question and answer session will follow. The lecture will be in English.

Mr. Drebentsov graduated from Moscow State University (Economics) in 1982, and has a PhD in Economics from the Institute for US and Canadian Studies (ISKRAN). In 1982, he graduated from the Economic Cybernetics Department of the Faculty of Economics of Lomonosov Moscow State University. Mr. Drebentsov joined BP in 2006 to become head of the economic and energy research and policy advice department for the BP Group in countries of the former Soviet Union. Additional responsibilities include coverage of European gas markets for the BP Economics Group and of global gas reserves and trade for BP Statistical Review of World Energy. In 2010, Mr Drebentsov assumed the role of Vice-President for External Affairs of BP Russia. Since November 2008, he has been serving on the Expert Council of the government of Russias’ Anti-crisis Commission. Prior career positions include 12 years as Senior Economist and Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for US and Canadian Studies and an Assistant Professor and Senior Researcher at the Graduate School of International Business at the Government of Russia’s Academy of National Economy. Mr.Drebentsov has authored and co-authored more than 50 academic research works.
