Dear Colleagues,

We express our wholehearted support for the European University at St. Petersburg - a unique center studying social sciences and humanities. Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (Kunstkamera) RAS has cooperated with the EUSP in the framework of academic and educational programs, joint projects, conferences and seminars, and the publication of the Anthropological Forum journal for many years.

Sixteen dissertations have been successfully defended by the graduates of the EUSP Department of Anthropology at our museum. The level of these works meets the best criteria of academic research. More than ten EUSP alumni work today in Kunstkamera representing Russian anthropology and ethnography at home and abroad. EUSP faculty and staff contribute to the work of expert and dissertation councils of the largest anthropological centers in Russia. Their publications and projects enjoy international recognition.

European University at St. Petersburg is one of the leading educational institutions in the fields of history, political science, sociology, art history and economics. It is impossible to overestimate the contribution of the EUSP in the development of social anthropology in Russia. The Department of Anthropology offers a unique combination of educational components such as "Cultural Anthropology", "Folklore Studies", "Sociolinguistics" and "Arctic Social Studies".

By supporting the European University at St. Petersburg we support the development of Russian science and education. We hope the EUSP will continue its research and educational activities, so important for the humanities in Russia.

On behalf of the administration and staff of MAE RAS.
Director of MAE RAS, Doctor of Historical Sciences
