CLEAN ENERGY FORUM 2017

Clean energy for sustainable development

Second international forum CLEAN ENERGY will take place on November 30, 2017 in the Hotel Indigo in St. Petersburg.

On September 25, 2015, the UN General Assembly adopted a set of goals for sustainable development to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all.

In July 2017, the EU Expert Group on Sustainable Finance published a report on green finance. The report notes that in the next two decades the European Union needs to invest at least 180 billion euros annually in order to achieve the goals stated in the Paris Climate Agreement.

Goal 7. Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.

«... by 2030 ... encourage investment in energy infrastructure and clean energy sources ...»
At the Clean Energy Forum — 2017 we would like to address the issue of how to realize Russia's huge clean energy potential. Given the St. Petersburg location, a special attention would be paid to the North-West Federal District, as well as to the Arctic cooperation. Since the forum will be held immediately after the international climate talks in Bonn, we intend to discuss its outcome in Russia as well.
