Center for Science and Technology Studies (STS Center)
The Center for Science and Technology Studies aims at coordinating the activities of the the STS scholars from the EUSP, Russia, and worldwide. Launched in December 2011 with the support of the Skolkovo Foundation, the Center has developed academic ties with Cornell University, MIT, Sciences Po Paris, University of Exeter, and University of California at Davis.
The Center's fellows are engaged in both scholarly and applied research in the sociology of science, sociology of technology, anthropology of technology, science and technology history, science and intellectual property, and cross-cultural research projects. In 2013, the STS Center became a research base for Mega-Grant winning Russian Computer Scientists at home and abroad project led by distinguished professor of Science and Technology Studies at UC Davis (USA) Mario Biagioli.
From 2016 on, STS Center aims to continue research in the following areas:
- Urban studies, infrastructure studies, technologies in the city, new media and digital technologies in urban planning and built environment development
- Computational Social Sciences: digital humanities, big data analysis in social studies, computation in STS
