For me, MARCA provided a unique opportunity to really immerse myself into the world of Russian culture and the arts. Taught in the Russian cultural capital, both the seminar room and the city itself act as an intellectual springboard for creative productivity.
One of my favorite aspects of the program was the way the courses interacted with St. Petersburg itself. For example, our Music class took us to the famous Mariinsky Theatre; our Architecture class offered walking tours of the city’s most architecturally-spectacular streets, as well as its underground metro system; our Literature class allowed us to discuss some of the world’s finest literature in the homes of the writers themselves (Dostoevsky, Blok, and Akhmatova were just a few); and our Theatre class took us to the world-famous Alexandriinsky Theatre to watch inspiring Russian plays.
This is just a small sample of the many life-changing and eye-opening experiences which studying MARCA gave me. I could not recommend this course more highly for prospective students – you will not regret your decision to study MARCA at EUSP!
