The evening began with the annual address by the Rector of the University, Oleg Kharkhordin. Among the honored guests in attendance at the ceremony were representatives of the city administration and diplomatic corps, and also members of the Board of Trustees, friends, and partners of European University.

Mikhail Oseevsky, Vice-governor of St. Petersburg
Andrei Maksimov, Chairman of the Committee for Science and Higher Education of St. Petersburg
William Elliott, the Consul-General of the United Kingdom in St. Petersburg
Igor Metelsky, Chairman of the St. Petersburg City Property Management Committee congratulated students, graduates, instructors, and employees of the University.
At the end of the inaugural addresses of the guests, pro-rectors, and deans, the Rector congratulated the graduates and handed them their Master’s degrees. The evening, as per tradition, concluded with refreshments and picture-taking.
